This scarf was woven using a multicoloured yarn as the warp, this gives it soft lengthwise stripes. The weft is a luxurious blend of kid mohair and silk in lime green, which adds a subtle (and very cosy) haze. As you can see, when it is modelled (by the lovely Melanie of Spiral Spin), it’s a generous length to keep you warm and display its beautiful colours.
The scarf contains lambs wool, kid mohair, silk and a little polyamide.
The particular scarf shown has gone to a good home but I will take orders for a maximum of 3 more. Each scarf is unique so those made to order will vary slightly. Please allow 2 weeks for the made to order scarves.
The scarf is 227cm long (including a 10cm fringe at each end) and 32cm wide. Each scarf will be packaged in a gift box.

Niobium is an element (formerly known as Colombium) which can be anodised, and therefore coloured, just like Aluminium. It is light and strong which is important for jewellery but possibly more important is that it is hypoallergenic. This makes it suitable for those with sensitivity to other metals.
Aluminium (or Aluminum if you prefer) can be anodised by submerging it in acid and subjecting to an electrical current. This results in a microscopic, almost honeycomb surface. Colour added to that surface is sealing into the chambers with heat and the result is permanently coloured metal - The colours you see on my anodised Aluminium cannot wash or rub off.
Aluminium is extremely light which makes is perfect for comfortable jewellery. It cannot be soldered, like Silver for example, so you will find items like my Pansy Stud earrings can be separated into the studs (Sterling Silver or Niobium) and the anodised Aluminium flower. This means you can wear the studs alone if you wish - two pairs for the price of one!
